Zibibbo Passito 'Baronazzo Amafi', Cantine Paolini 2018 (50cl)

An excellent value example of the renowned sweet Muscat wines from Sicily, in this case from the high-quality Paolini co-operative in the West of the island, composed of small holdings averaging 3 hectares each which are all harvested by hand. The Zibibbo grapes are picked at the end of August then carefully dried for several months before fermentation.The resulting wine is beautifully scented, with ripe apricot, candied citrus peel and honey notes, sweet and unctuous but with an underlying freshness. Try with sweet pastries, Gorgonzola or in place of dessert altogether.
