Niepoort Vinhos Tutored Tasting - Thursday 7th December 2023

With Christmas just a few weeks away, we'll welcome Tim French of Halo Wines and exclusive UK representative of Niepoort to introduce a selection of both conventional and fortified wines from one of the finest producers in Portugal. Niepoort was founded in 1842 and is now led by fifth generation Dirk Niepoort, something of a wine-making legend and recipient of this year's Decanter Hall of Fame Award for his innovations and achievements not just in Douro but also in Dao, Bairrada and beyond. The estate, incorporating two important Quinta vineyards acquired in the 1980s, now comprises some 80ha of vines, all farmed organically. The idiosyncratic range from Niepoort includes some of the most sought-after examples of both classic and new-wave styles of port, from 'natural' ruby and aged tawny to vintage, along with supremely elegant, complex expressions of a host of indigenous varieties. A selection of light food is included in the ticket price and all the wines will be available to order on the night.
