Gewurztraminer 'Reserve', Cave de Hunawihr 2020

  • £16.00

The small Cave de Hunawihr co-operative of growers was founded in 1954, with the fruit being largely sourced from 25 year old vines growing on the hillside slopes surrounding the picturesque village of Hunawihr. Their wines are all excellent value examples of the still often underrated Alsatian styles, the Gewurztraminer showing the classically distinctive but subtle aromas of rose-petals, lychee and mango, with plenty of weight and body but finishing off-dry with really refreshing acidity. A wonderfully versatile food wine, especially with any kind of smoky spice.
