Classic Cuvee, Furleigh Estate 2017
Rebecca Hansford and Ian Edwards are consummate winemakers and grow and hand-harvest all their grapes on their own 20 hectares of vineyards deep in the Dorset countryside just five miles from the Jurassic coast. The first vines were only planted in 2005 but these are already some of the best sparkling wines made in the UK: aromatic, concentrated and expressive. The Classic Cuvee is their flagship wine, a blend of the principle Champagne varieties: full with a certain amount of richness, plenty of ripe pear and melon fruit with more zesty citrus and attractive mineral freshness.
