Rasteau, Domaine la Soumade 2019

Old-school Cotes-du-Rhone bristling with character. Andre Romero ('Superstar of Rasteau') founded the domaine in 1979 but the 26 hectares of vineyards, entirely hand-harvested, are now in the hands of his son Frederic, highly capable but ever in the shadow of Romero perè. This is unfiltered and almost Burgundian in style, supple and full of succulent dark fruit.
