This is a great value example of Germany's attractive and underrated Pinot Noir wines, made here at an estate owned by star winemaker Ernst Loosen but run by Patrick Moellendorf and Sumi Gebauer: medium bodied with ripe but fresh dark cherry/raspberry fruit, savoury notes, a touch of slightly smoky spice and some soft earthy tannin from 12 months' ageing in oak barriques.
