'Mongrana', Agricola Querciabella 2020

  • £17.50

The Querciabella estate is based principally in Chianti Classico, where it has been massively improved since its purchase by Giuseppe Castiglioni in 1974, but also owns 32 hectares of vineyards in Maremma on the Etruscan coast acquired by his son Sebastiano, who is now winemaker. This is a particularly fresh, lively modern Super Tuscan style blend from entirely hand-harvested and biodynamically grown fruit but without the use of any oak: intense but refined, with smooth, bright, ripe fruit, notes of cedar, herbs and sweet spice with some fine, well balanced tannins and a refreshing acidity.
