Chianti Rufina, Fattoria Selvapiana 2021

  • £19.00

The Selvapiana estate, with some 60 hectares under vine, lies just north of Pontassieve within Rufina, the smallest but perhaps most distinctive zone in Chianti. It has been in the family of Francesco Giuntini since 1827 and is arguably one of the best producers in the region. The wine sees partial ageing for 12 months in a combination of large oak casks and barriques. This is scented with blackberry, red cherry and some soft spice with plenty of ripe fruit but also real freshness and elegance with some very fine tannin. A great expression of Sangiovese.
