Cote de Nuits-Villages 'Vieilles Vignes', Domaine de Bellene 2015

  • £29.50

Nicolas Potel, better known for his negociant company, started to create his own domaine after buying up vineyard parcels from the mid 2000s. There are now 22 hectares which are being converted to organic (and partly biodynamic) farming while his approach in the cellar is admirably hands-off. The vines for his Cote de Nuits range from 50 to 110 years old and the wine is a very well crafted and subtle example of Pinot Noir, supple and rounded with plenty of ripe plum and bramble fruit and some very fine tannin.
