Beyond the Côte d'Or: Tutored Tasting of Wines from the South of Burgundy - Thursday 2nd October 2025

With autumn on the way after a largely glorious summer, we're delighted to welcome back Simon Hore from Thorman Hunt (respected shipper since 1978 of many of the finest French growers) for an exploration of the Mâconnais and Chalonnaise regions of Burgundy. Prices of wines from the renowned appellations of the Côte d'Or (Meursault, Gevrey-Chambertin, Puligny-Montrachet and others) are increasing every year at a striking rate, a function of increasing demand in the face of often heavily reduced supply. The south of Burgundy however has seen an influx of talented new winemakers in recent years, with the quality at established domaines higher than it has ever been, making it the source of some of the best-value classic Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines to be found today.

A selection of light food is included in the ticket price and all the wines will be available to order on the night.
