Meursault 'Cuvee Charles Maxime', Domaine Latour-Giraud 2021

 Jean-Pierre Latour has 10 hectares of particularly well sited vines, from which he crafts some of the best wines being made today in Meursault, favouring low yields, largely organic viticulture and wild yeasts. The wines are also unfiltered. His Cuvee Charles Maxime (a blend from three distinct plots: Les Vireuils, Les Corbins and Les Pelles) is both fermented and matured in oak barrels (a third typically new oak) for 15-16 months, resulting in quite a rich, generous, expressive style with considerable poise, concentration and elegance.
