Ch Coutet 1er Grand Cru, Sauternes 2007 (37.5cl)

  • £20.00

Chateau Coutet, modest in size but very pretty, sits in the south of the Barsac appellation with 35 hectares of vineyards, planted mostly to Semillon with some Sauvignon Blanc and just a little Muscadelle. They make beautiful wines in typical Barsac style: aromatic, delicate and elegant but with wonderful depth and concentration. The 2007, still in its youth really, is all lemon tart, apricot and peach with a gently honeyed finish.

75% Semillon, 23% Sauvignon Blanc & 2% Muscadelle (vineyard plantings)
