Bouzeron 'Les Corderes', Domaine Paul et Marie Jacqueson 2015

  • £23.00

Burgundy is rightly known as the spiritual home of Chardonnay but Aligoté is one of its other, less widely-planted, white grape varieties. It's usually known for making simple, crisp whites but the village of Bouzeron (only formally recognised in 1998) has elevated it to the status of a more serious, complex wine. Jacqueson's 'Les Cordères' vineyard was planted in 1937 and makes an expressive, concentrated, floral wine full of sprightly citrus and apple fruit but with a typically rounded, generous texture and just a hint of spice.
